Health Facilities

Latest: A tentative agreement was reached last fall for members covered by the Health Facilities agreement, however the BCGEU contingent of the FBA bargaining committee recommended members vote against ratification.

On December 19, 2025, the FBA announced that the tentative agreement was accepted by the multi-union bargaining association, with 54.2% voting in favour overall. However, the FBA has not provided the BCGEU with the breakdown of the votes at the HEU and at other constituent unions of the FBA. The BCGEU is therefore unable to confirm ratification of the agreement. Our union remains prepared to take any action necessary to secure these results, including seeking resolution through the Articles of Association.

The BCGEU vote breakdown is as follows:

  • Number of ballots cast by BCGEU members: 742
  • Number of eligible BCGEU voters: 2,314
  • Number of BCGEU votes accepting the terms of the tentative agreement: 124 (16.7%)
  • Number of BCGEU votes rejecting the terms of the tentative agreement: 618 (83.3%)
  • Number of spoiled ballots: 0
