The BC General Employees’ Union (BCGEU) is one of the largest, most diverse and fastest growing unions in British Columbia with over 95,000 members in 550 bargaining units in the public and private sectors. Of these, 73,000 are covered under one of six sectoral agreements in the public sector, including 34,000 who are employed directly in the BC Public Service. Members live and work in almost every community and economic sector in the province.
Paul Finch was elected president of the BCGEU at the union’s convention in June 2024. He had previously served as the union’s treasurer for three terms – being elected in 2014, 2017, and 2021. (see full bio)
